Inhalt

  • 2x Federn

The chain dampers work great. They really calm down the bike in the chunk. I bought two and have already had to take them apart and clean and re-grease them as they both started to creak. This is a little annoying as I don’t live in a very wet or muddy climate. I’m hoping they remain quiet for a while now. Overall they work as advertised and I would buy them again.

The buzz is real. Chain damper does exactly what advertised. Yes stronger spring makes pedalling a bit weird at first but you do get used to it quickly, on the way down it makes bike feel smoother and silent. Pedal kickback or trail feel through pedals is erased. It is most suitable for DH riding IMO. If you do pedal a lot and dont like the feel of spring resistance, trail spring is the way to go. Pedalling feel is normal and benefits on the way down remain (by most part).

I do prefer trail spring as for me it offers perfect balance between pedalling feel and muting pedal kickback and trail chatter.

I'd previously used Ochain so was generally prepared for the pedal feeling. Just back from the Rimpact's first realised test of Dyfi/Rev's and very pleased with the results. I'd installed the train springs as I found the engagement on the standard ones a little slow for my day to day local riding but even still the devices performed exceptionally well.

Customer services was brilliant with Matt responding to queries quickly and providing some advice on installation as my bike had some oddities to overcome.
